Mudan Tempura
Mudan Tempura is a Michelin two-star restaurant all about tempura. Unlike most of the tempura in the market, the skin of the tempura is very thin, so one would not get sick of tempura after eating 10+ tempura in the end!
Mudan Tempura is a reservation-only restaurant that accepts reservations only at 12:30 and 18:30. Please note this before making a reservation, as the chef needs to wait for everyone to arrive before serving the tempura, as the chef makes courses together for everyone.
The environment in Mudan is generally good. There is a small indoor dry landscape at the bottom of the corridor when you enter the door. There are no other unnecessary decorations.
Even the cooking table is empty. There is nothing else except the oil pan and stove. The overall appearance is simple, plain, and elegant, which makes people feel relaxed and comfortable.
The menu is Full Course: From 7500+ NT, which consists mainly of Japanese seafood and wagyu beef tempura. All of the seafood is high quality, and the chef uses two different temperature oils to create shrimp with different textures and tastes.
My favorite is Hokkaidoo Premium Red Sea Urchin with Fresh Perilla Leaf. I never thought before coming here that Sea Urchin could be Tempura. Their signature ayu is also impressive, with the fish rising on the hook, looking like it’s flying in the air.
From the online review, many people love the environment and its exceptional service. When you leave to go to the bathroom, they will show you the way and help you move your chair in when you get back from the bathroom. Most of the negative reviews come from their weird reservation system. They have made the reservation page more stable. One can find the reservation on their website.
