Xiao Wang Zhu Gua (formerly Xiao Wang Qing Tang Gua Zai Rou) is in Huaxi Street Night Market in Taipei. It opened in 1975, so it’s been around for half a century, and it’s gotten a Michelin Bib Gourmand many years in a row. The must-orders are the hei jin lu rou fan and the qing tang gua zai rou.
Retro pushcart: A vintage food cart sits by the entrance as decoration, giving off a fun street-food vibe and the feel of an old-school ban zhuo banquet.
They’ve won a Michelin Bib Gourmand 8 years in a row (2019–2026).

Xiang Gu Lu Rou Fan: The braising sauce is dark and shiny. They slow-cook fatty pork with the skin on, so it melts in your mouth, full of collagen and super savory. Adding shiitake gives it even more flavor.
Qing Tang Gua Zai Rou: Their signature soup. The pork bone broth is cooked with the old-brand “Ri Guang” pickled cucumbers and their juice, plus firm, bouncy chi rou geng sprinkled with Fei Ma brand black pepper. Sweet and fresh — and if you eat in, soup refills are free and unlimited!
Kong Rou Fan / Xiang Gu Kong Rou Fan: Big chunks of pork belly braised all the way through — soft, tender, and super flavorful.
Popular sides: lu ya dan, you dou fu, and lu bai cai. They soak up that special “black gold” braising sauce — simple but so good.
